Valsts prezidents piedalīsies imperatora svinīgajā kronēšanas ceremonijā Japānā
President of Latvia Egils Levits will pay a working visit to Tokyo (Japan) on 21-25 October. While visiting Japan the President of Latvia will attend the Coronation of His Majesty Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako and other events at the Imperial Palace. President will also have several bilateral meetings.

Working visit of the President of Latvia Egils Levits to Japan will include a meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan, H.E. Mr Shinzo Abe, Chair of the Japan-Latvia parliamentary friendship group, H.E. Mr Hirofumi Nakasone, and Latvia’s Honorary Consul in Osaka, Mr Tamio Ishibashi. President will also meet with Latvians living in Japan, Japanese mixed choir Gaisma (Light) and students studying Latvian at the Latvia’s Embassy to Japan.

During visit to Japan, Egils Levits will also meet with the President of Romania, H.E. Mr Klaus Werner Iohannis. He will visit Waseda University, meet with its President Aiji Tanaka, go to university museum and give a lecture titled ‘Latvia’s perspective on challenges in modern democracies’.

President of Latvia, Egils Levits, will be accompanied on his working visit to Japan by First Lady, Ms Andra Levite.
