Application to Erasmus+ STUDY VISIT "Sharing is Caring" (12-19 April 2020, Ape, Alūksne and other locations in Latvia)

This is application to Erasmus+ study visit for people that already work with youth. Preferably with young people with fewer opportunities!

With this study visit we want to gather 24 experienced youth workers – from municipalities, schools, youth centre, social services, youth organizations - who work with young people on daily (or at least every-week) basis in order to share innovative practices of youth work from their youth work reality or country and explore more in detail the innovative approaches of youth work in different Latvian organisations/institutions.

During the Study visit we will meet at least 10 different NGOs and institutions that are working with young people both in rural areas (Ape, Alūksne, Gulbene) and cities (Rēzekne). Youth club, student council, youth centres, hobby education providers ( like Latvian 4-H organisation). Detailed programme will be shared with accepted participants before the Study visit.

DURING THE PROJECT ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE HOSTING ORGANISATION. In order to keep up the work we invite participants to contribute to "Aluksne and Ape Community Foundation" by 20 EUR participation fee. In no way it should be an obstacle for your participation, nevertheless, contact us if it is.

Participants applying for this project should be:

- Working with young people on regular basis (youth workers, peer-to-peer educators, youth leaders, young activists, teachers, etc.) – not just young person, but someone who already works with youth;
- Interested in good youth work practices in Latvia and ready to chase them by traveling around in Latvia;
- Ready to organize some follow-up activities using the experience from this Study visit (individually or together with another person from the same country) within 2 months after the project;
- 18+ years old;
- Fluent in communication in English.

As the contents of the project will largely depend on participants’ engagement and contributions, we expect all participants to have a REAL experience in youth work and non-formal education for some time and maturity as personalities.

If the candidates offered by partner organisations will be too unsuitable, we keep the rights to choose other participants.

I have read carefully the practical information (mentioned in info-pack) regarding the study visit and I am aware about the conditions of participation in it.

I confirm that my candidature fits the profile of participants - I work with young people and will apply the gained experience in work with them.

I commit myself to participate in the whole process, including: - to prepare myself carefully for the training course and to do all remote preparation work the team will ask for; - to take part in the full duration of the training course - sometimes even 12 h per day... (In case you are not able to attend some session due to health reasons, please immediately inform about that the organizers. In case of skipping parts of the programme without informing us on that, you will not be reimbursed the travel expenses.); - to participate in the evaluation and implement at least 1 follow-up activity in my country.

I am aware that obtaining a health and a full travel insurance are my own responsibility and at my own expenses. I understand that the information I provided on my special needs does not remove my own personal responsibility for ensuring my own health.

If I cancel my participation, I abide myself to inform about it immediately so the organizers can find a suitable replacement.
