Festival Sculpture Quadrennial Riga 2024 launches their first open-call for remote artists-in-residence program. 

The aim of the program is to create concepts for public artwork in Riga city for the festival in 2024.

During the 12 week program, the artists, together with the festival team will work to prepare public art projects, which will be implemented within the festival in 2024 in Riga, continuing the festival's tradition to foster the availability of public art in Riga.

Program will be running from October 25, 2021 to January 7, 2022

 

The focus of the program is to develop concepts and projects for pieces in the urban environment of Riga.

 

Over the course of the program artists will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the history of urban art in Riga, meet with Latvian art professionals, curators and producers.

 

Participation in the program is free and the work language will be English. 

 

When applying, artists and/or collectives must submit a portfolio and a brief outline of the idea, topic or direction to be developed during the program. Applications are evaluated by the festival team. Some of developed projects will be commissioned for SQR2024.

  • Lectors and mentors from Latvian art scene

  • Selected artist participation in festival 2024
